How Do You Use This Incense Powder?

Light a charcoal disc with a match or lighter. Hold it with tongs for safety. Wait until the disc is fully glowing and has a light gray color. Place it in a heat-resistant burner on a layer of sand and sprinkle a small amount of incense powder on it. The scent unfolds slowly, so be patient. Start with half a teaspoon.

For meditation or prayer, you can burn the powder before you begin so the room fills with fragrance. You can also use an oil burner with a screen and tea candle for a more subtle release. The disc stays hot for about 45 minutes to an hour. Add fresh powder if you want to extend the scent. Let everything cool completely after use before emptying or storing the burner.
